Mrs. Rebecca Hackworth Passes Away.
The funeral of Mrs. Rebecca Hackworth was held at the Congregational church of this city Tuesday, Rev. Jeffers conducting the services. Interment was made in the Welsh Cemetery.
Mrs. Hackworth was formerly a resident of this place, but had moved with her son-in-law, S.A. Winterton and family, to California, a few years ago, where she resided until about two months ago, when she returned to Louisiana, and has since been residing at Newellton, where Mr. Winterton is now in charge of a large rice plantation. It had long been the desire of the deceased to be buried in Welsh by the side of her departed husband, who was buried here some eight years ago. Deceased was over eighty years old, having long out-lived the years usually alloted to man. She was the mother of ten children, and is survived by three sons, J.W. Hackworth of Newellton, Louisiana, C.H. Hackworth of Magnolia, Arkansas, I.T. Hackworth of Welsh, and two daughters, Mrs. S.A. Winterton of Newellton, and Mrs. Towler of California, as well as thirteen grandchildren.
