Oldham, Samuel K., 82, passed away on August 16. [2010]Son of the late Jesse S. and Jennie (Kanode) Oldham, he was born in Altoona, Pa., on December 28, 1927. On March 24, 1951, he married Sarah J. Stoner, his wife of 59 years. A graduate of Messiah College (Grantham, Pa.), he continued his education with courses at Elizabethtown (Pa.) College and Mansfield (Pa.) College before becoming a Brethren in Christ minister. He pastored small country churches in Michigan and Pennsylvania. He also taught social studies for five years in Boiling Springs, Pa., and special education for 15 years in northern Pennsylvania. Along with his wife, Sarah, he participated in short- term mission projects through BIC World Missions. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife; five children, Helen Leach, Carol Wetmore, Dorothy Hoy, Sue George, and James S. Oldman; a brother, Jesse Oldham; a sister, Ruth Lehman; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A member of Dillsburg (Pa.) BIC, his funeral was held at Cedar Grove BIC (Mifflintown, Pa.), with the Rev. James Spurrier officiating. Interment took place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
