Martin was baptized in the Concordia Lutheran Church in Moland Township, MN on January 1, 1894. His baptismal sponsors were Christian & Gunhild Tangen, John & Anna Knutson. Kragnes Township records state his birth date as 15 Nov 1893.

On Tuesday a little son, about two years old of Ole Tangen, town of Kragnes, died. He was taken sick with measles, which changed to lung fever. Burial Saturday.
