Several vital records, one of which Rudolph signed, confirmed that his legal and birth name was "Edward Rudolph Tangen," although he always seemed to have been called Rudolph.

Lifelong member of the North Buffalo Lutheran Church in Kragnes Township where he served on the church council. He was baptized and confirmed in the church and his funeral was held there as well. He was confirmed in the North Buffalo Lutheran Church 28 Oct 1917.

Funeral Set Wednesday For Tangen

KRAGNES, Minn.-The Funeral of Rudolph Tangen, 55, farmer in Kragnes Township, Clay County, will be at 2 Wednesday in North Buffalo (Evangelical) Lutheran Church four miles north of here.
The Rev. E. N. Torgerson will officiate. Mr. Tangen, a lifelong resident of Kragnes Township, died unexpectedly Friday.

Stricken on his way home after working in the field, he was brought to a Fargo hospital by ambulance and was dead on arrival. He had been under treatment for a heart ailment.
Born May 23, 1903, he married Claribel Richards in 1927 in Moorhead. They had farmed here since.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Oberlin, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Lois) Seter, Glyndon, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer (Alys) Oberg, rural Moorhead; two brothers, Walter and Norman, both Inglewood, Calif.; Four sisters, Mrs. Clara Crary and Mrs. Robin (Jeanette) Coleman, both rural Moorhead, Mrs. Ben (Winifred) Schroeder, Inglewood, and Mrs. E. M. (Esther) Emerson, Minneapolis, and seven grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Tangen was a member of North Buffalo Church and had served on church and school boards. Friends may call at Wright Chapel Tuesday afternoon and evening.
