Clarence A. Schad, 93, of St. Nazianz, died Monday afternoon, October 17, 2011 at Manitowoc Health Care & Rehab Center where he resided the past 8 months. He was born May 25, 1918 in School Hill, son of the late Peter & Margaret (Knier) Schad. Clarence attended Holy Trinity Grade School in School Hill.

He was employed at the Salvatorian Center in St. Nazianz for 20 years and retired in 1983 from Laun Furniture Factory in Kiel.

He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in St.Nazianz.

Clarence enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and Schad genealogy discoveries.

Survivors include one brother, Max Schad of Madison, one sister, Theresa Escher, Mission, TX, four nieces and nine nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Edmund, John, Theodore & Leonard Schad, two sisters; Marie Fessler & Rosie Hauch, three infant brothers, Joseph, Bernard & Peter and one infant sister, Helen. The funeral Mass for Clarence will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Friday, October 21, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill with Rev. Patrick Nelson and Deacon James Steffen officiating.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
