Gertie Copas Morrison, daughter of Greenberry and Nancy Webb Copas, was born in Adams Co, April 29, 1891, and died January 31, 1955. She married Coleman Morrison in 1921, who died more than six years ago. They had four children of whom three preceded her in death; Mary Ellen died in infancy; a son, Rushford, was drowned and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Bentley, also met with a tragedy. One daughter, Mrs. Edna Bentley, of Lynx, Ohio survives; also two brothers, Doc Copas of Blue Creek, Alfred Copas of Seaman, and six sisters; Mrs. Anna Francis, Mrs. Margaret Abbott, Miss Hettie Copas, Mrs. Hallie Gifford, Mrs. Lillie Hayslip and the twin sister Myrtle Grooms. Besides the above names, other survivors are: three step-daughters, Mrs. Gertie Haylsip, Mrs. Myrtle Shinkle, and Mrs. Salona Miller. Mrs. Morrison was a twin in a family of 16 children, seven of whom are deceased.
