Cosmo P Richardsone was a well-respected and some say the best doctor in Savannah, Georgia. He came to Georgia when only 3 years of age, so although he was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he became a true son of the South. From 1844 to his death in 1852 he commanded the Savannah Volunteer Guards. He died in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.
His first wife Margaret Bailey of Hancock County passed away from 'brain fever' in the spring of 1838.
In June 1839 Cosmo married Margaret's sister Elizabeth Bailey.
