OBITUARY
W. D. Reneau, son of David and Mary Reneau, was born in Fulton County, Illinois, February 19th, 1851, died at McDonald, Kansas, February 23rd, 1915, aged 64 years and 4 days.

He was married May 7th, 1874. to Maria J. Heffner. To this union two children were born, Perry Nelson, of McDonald, and Hayes Aurelius, of Monroe, Wisconsin. He leaves the wife and two sons, also five brothers and one sister to mourn his loss. The brothers are: Robert R. and George W., of McDonald, Kansas; Abraham L. of Tulsa Oklahoma; Ulysses G., of Inglewood, California; Charles S. of Montgomery, West Virginia; and Nellie Zumwalt, of Buhl, Idaho. He resided in Illinois until 1888, during which time he served in the U. S. Army, 4th Artillery of Michigan, for three years from 1865 to 1869; from which he received an honorable discharge. He moved his family to Dundy County, Nebraska, in 1888 and resided there until 1894 when he moved his family to Rawlins County, Kansas, where he resided until his death. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. Lodge No. 290, of Max, Nebraska.

The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church Friday at 2:00 P.M. conducted by the Rev. A. K. Bone of this city, after which the remains were laid to rest in the McDonald cemetery. A large number of friends and neighbors assembled to pay a last sad tribute to the dead, many being unable to find even standing room in the building. In the loss of a loving husband; a kind father and brother the relatives in their sad affliction have the sympathy of their many friends.
