David R. Reneau was born May 11, 1823. Died Jan. 6, 1909. Aged 75 years, 7 months and 25 days.
Mr. Reneau was born near Knoxville Tenn., and at the age of two years removed with his parents to Harrison County, Ind., where he remained until 1844 when he removed to Fulton county, Ill.
He was married to Mary Rutledge Nov. 3, 1848. To this union 13 children were born, of whom 7 boys and 1 girl survive him in death. His wife, Mary Reneau died March 6, 1906.
David Reneau resided in Fulton county, Ill., until 1857 when he removed with his family to Linn county, Kans. where he remained until 1861 when he returned to Fulton county, Ill. and entered Co. H 12 Illinois Volunteers from which Co. he was honorably discharged in 1865 and returned to his family in Fulton county where he remained until 1887 when he removed to Yuma county, Colo., from which place he came to Rawlins county in 1891 and has resided in this vicinity continuously with the exception of one year which was spent in Christian county. Mo.
He leaves besides 8 children, 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held from the M. E. Church at McDonald, Saturday, Jan.9, after which he was laid to rest beside his loving wife in Grace Cemetery.
