Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8 at 2 pm. in the Rupert Stake Tabernacle, Rupert, Idaho, for David G. Hyde, 76, a former Star Valley resident, who died Sunday evening at his home of natural causes.
Mr Hyde, a retired Rupert florist and school teacher, spent much of his youth in Star Valley, having lived in Auburn for many years.
He was born Oct. 2, 1887, in Fairview Utah, a son of Austin C. and Mary Griffeth Hyde. He married Zena Elizabeth Robinson sept 16, 1859 in the Logan Temple.
He was active in church organizations, having served as bishop of the Rupert First Ward, as president of the high priests quorum and in many executive positions in the LDS Church auxiliary organizations.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs Melborne (Elaine) Hyatt, Salt Lake City, and Mrs W. Katherine Powell, National City Calif.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, three sisters and a brother, Milton, Mrs Mae Hale, both of Rupert; Mrs Marinda Wilde, Ogden; Mrs Cora Frandsen, Pocatello.
Burial was in the Rupert Cemetery.
