Addison Lee was by trade a carpenter and cooper, but had an inherited gift for music. He was an expert violinist and fifer, and could play on any blown instrument. In his home, among his own family, he developed an orchestra of extraordinary talent. People came from miles away to hear the Lee Family play and to dance to their music. Olive Lee was a woman of unusual character, a trait she transmitted to her large family of children. Her parents had lived neighbors to George Lee at Camps Mills.
