Mr. Mike Henry of the Austin Hollow Community at Pleasant Shade was pronounced dead at the scene of a 9:45 a.m. two vehicle accident at 4994 Murfreesboro Road in Wilson County involving a Rutherford County School Bus on Saturday morning October 1, 2011. He was 60. Graveside services and interment were conducted Wednesday afternoon October 5th from the Davis Cemetery at Russell Hill. One of ten children of the late Melvin Lee and Willie Mai Woodard Henry, he was born Michael Lewis Henry in Nashville on February 23, 1951 and was the first of the children to die. Before retiring in 1995 he was a sheet metal worker at Smyrna Air Center in Smyrna. He was reared in Nashville on Maplewood Lane and attended Maplewood High School. After retirement he lived on Chicken Road off Hwy. 231 and in 2007 he moved to the Austin Hollow where his mother was born and reared. Surviving are two children, Tina Henry and Mike Henry Jr. both of Lebanon; nine siblings, Bessie Harper and husband Bobby of Nashville, Ruth McDonald of South Carthage, Kenneth Henry and wife Barbara of Nashville, Larry Henry and wife Mitchie of Okinawa, Japan, Barbara Denning and husband James of Madison, Troy Henry of South Carthage, Carolyn Bishop and husband Anthony of Morrison, Roger Henry of Madison, Deborah Cook and husband Tracy of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren.
