Arvid Charles Monell was the oldest of 10 children born on 20 August 1877 to George I Monell (1849-1928) and Sarah Elliot Cornish (1853-1933).
Arvid first married Bertha E. Bailey (1882-1926) on 14 June 1904 and they had one son: Arvid Charles Monell (1911-1986) and a daughter - whose name is currently unknown.
After Bertha's death, Arvid married Nettie Moore Rankin, also a widow, in 1926. (Allegedly Nettie's sons were not too pleased about this marriage because Mr. Monell was a "Yankee from New York".) However, my mother, his step-granddaughter, remembers him as an extremely kind man.
Arvid died at the age of 72 on 20 November 1949 in Jamieson, Florida.
