ELI T. MORRIS JR., 91, died Friday, September 8, 2006. Mr. Morris was an insurance salesman for over 50 years with the Jackson Life Insurance Company and the Associated Agency. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Morris' Christian faith was lived out each and every day with family, friends, and business colleagues. He served as a board member of Young Life, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and as a founding board member for the Evangelical Christian School. Mr. Morris was also a Gideon and an elder at First Evangelical Church. He attended Hope Presbyterian Church where both of his sons serve as pastors. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Modelle Johnson Morris. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law the Reverend Eli and Patty Morris and the Reverend David and Laurie Morris, all of Memphis. He is also survived by two brothers, Carl Morris of Ocala, FL and Enoch Morris of Milan, TN; two sisters, Sydney Totty and Dian Siler of Memphis; many precious nieces and nephews and "Boo Boo's" heart, his three grandchildren, Tommy, Avery, and Lindsay Morris. Services will be held at noon on Monday, September 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will take place Sunday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Any memorials should be directed to the Evangelical Christian School or to the Hope Presbyterian Church building fund.
