Daughter of Jesse LeGette and Cely Laura Godbold Coleman, wife of Henry Bennett Avant.

MARION - Mrs. Daisy Coleman Avant, widow of Henry Bennett Avant, died about 10:30 p.m. Monday in a local hospital after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse L. and Laura Godbold Coleman of Marion.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Oscar Holland, assisted by the Rev. Paul O. Batson, Jr. and Dr. B. F. Allen. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Hal Craven, Mrs. R. E. Smith Jr., and Mrs. Benton Atkinson of Marion, Mrs. J. Williams of Lumberton, N.C. and Mrs. M. G. Evans of Charleston; three sons, H. B. Avant Jr. of John's Island, J. Whilden Avant of Barberton, Ohio and Dr. Earl S. Avant of Macon, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Wilbur S. White of Marion; 26 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren
