"Here is the information I have collected on ELEANORA M. HOFFART HARDING. Her son, GEORGE W. HARDING is my half-sister's father.

1919 Age 19. Year of her first marriage. Information from the 1930 Census of Sanborn, Barnes County, North Dakota. This was to GEORGE HARDING from information in the 1920 Census of Hasting, Dakota County, Minnesota.

1920 Age 20. Census of Hastings City, Ward 2, Dakota County, Minnesota, Supervisor District 3, Enumeration District 22, Sheet 2-B, Lines 56-61, being the 183rd dwelling and 194th family [household] in order of visitation, enumerated on 13 January by Mary E. Judkinski.

We find an ELNORAH [sic] ELEANORA HARDING residing with her husband GEORGE, at 306 Second Street along with 7 others in perhaps a boarding house hotel ran by Augustine Schroader as Proprietor, and her husband Edward, who was a listed as a Manufacturer of Soft Drinks.

GEORGE is listed as a Boarder and ELEANORA was listd as a Servant [Housekeeper] doing Housework at the Hotel. GEORGE has age at last birthday listed as 23 1897 being born in the state of Nebraska, with his father being born in Germany, and mother in France. He was working as a Sweeper in a Flour Mill for wages or a salary.

ELEANORA was about 2 months pregnant.

1920 Age 20. Birth of son GEORGE W. HARDING in July in Hastings ?, Dakota County, Minnesota.

1925 Age 4. In the 1 April 1925 North Dakota State Census of the Village of Sanborn, Barnes County, Sheet 1, Line 18.

GEORGE HORDING [sic] HARDING is listed as residing with his maternal grandfather NICHOLAS HOFFART and his aunt HELEN HOFFART. His age at last birthday is listed as 4, being correct because of it being 3 months before he would be 5 years of age. His mother was not listed in the Sanborn Village census. She is not found in the Mansfield Township census either, or from searching all the 1925 State Census as ELEANORA or NORA HARDING.

1930 Age 30. Census of Sanborn Village, Barnes County, Potter Township, North Dakota. Supervisor District 5, Enumeration District 2-43, Sheet 3-B, Lines 84-86, being the 63rd dwelling and 64th family [household] in order of visitation, enumerated on 5 April by Russel H. Cramer.

NORA M. HARDING, is shown as the daughter of NICHLOS HOFFART, and was listed as being age 30 1900 on her last birthday and listed her age at her first marriage as being 19. It is noted she could read and write a language. Her birth state is listed as North Dakota, with her parents being born in Canada, English speaking part. Her employment was listed as None.

They did not live on a farm and didn't have a radio set in the home.

NORA is listed as living with her father and we also find her son, GEORGE W. HARDING, residing with them.

GEORGE's age at last birthday is listed as 9, being born in Minnesota, with his father listed as United States [Unknown]. Enumerators were instructed to write United States instead of Unknown. His mother was born in North Dakota. He is listed as having attended school during the census year.

ELEANORA's father, NICHLOS HOFFART, age 80 1850, is listed as widowed, and his age at his first marriage was 29 years 1879. Nichlos is shown as owning the house, valued at $800. $800 of 1930 dollars would be worth $10,959 in 2012 and $800 of 2012 dollars would be worth $58.40 in 1930. Nichlos is listed as not able to read or write any language and born in Canada, English speaking part. Nichlos' parents were born in Germany and the language spoken in the house before coming to the United States was German. He is listed as having immigrated in 1851 and was Naturalized and could speak English. He is listed as not employed.

1940 Age 40. Census information not found as of this date [November 2014].
