Funeral services for Thomas Marion Bottoms were conducted Sunday, Jan. 15, at Jones Chapel Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Bottoms was born in Taylor County August 29, 1886, the son of the late Philip Allen and Jo Ann Chisholm Bottoms, and died at his home at 219 Wickliffe, Friday, Jan. 13. Death was due to a heart attack. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jo Ann Spurling Bottoms; ten children survive, three from his first marriage to Ida Cox who preceded him in death February 22, 1921, who are Mrs. Anner Tedder, City; Mrs. Lillie Graves, Pleasant Lake, Ind.; Mrs. Maudie Wright, Taylor County; From his wife Jo Ann are Judy Bottoms, City; Mrs. Mereta Riech, Springfield, Ill.; Kermit Bottoms, Mrs. Marcella Risinger, Mrs. Shirley Keeley, Edwin Bottoms and Brenda Bottoms, all of Louisville; three sisters: Mrs. Zella Perkins, Mannsville; Mrs. Stella Stevenson, Dayton, Ohio; and Mrs. Lula Marple, Louisville, Ky. Pallbearers were Howard Marple, Frank Perkins, Randall Wright, Lindsay Perkins, Harold Marple, and Walter Spurling.~~~Central-Kentucky News Journal January 1961.
