Melvin Hanson Dies at Age 90
Melvin Hanson, 1622 Clermont street, died Saturday at his home. He was 90.
He was born Oct 7, 1882 in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca county. On March 31, 1915, in Iola, he married Julia Mork. They came to Antigo in 1925.
Mr Hanson was a carpenter prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Hitterdahl Lutheran church near Iola.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs Opal Macdonald, Antigo, and Mrs Elroy (Mae) Wiegel, Muskego; three half-sisters, Mrs Harvey (Clara) Jacobson and Mrs Sherman (Margaret) Kasper, Superior, and Mrs Clifford (Hazel) Berg, Milwaukee; a half-brother, Oscar Lee, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin, and a brother, Hans.
Funeral services for Mr Hanson will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hitterdahl Lutheran church, the Rev Paul Ronning officiating. Burial will be in the Hitterdahl cemetery.
Friends may call at the Soman and Rhodes funeral home after 3 p.m. today and at the church from noon Wednesday until the time of services.
