Mrs. Martha Washburn of Eckford, sister of the late Parker Page Hamilton, fell while rising from her chair Monday and broke her hip. The fracture is at the join and practically impossible to mend. Owing to her feeble condition and advanced age her fiends have grave fears as to the result. She is 81 years old.

Death of Mrs. J. A. Washburn of Eckford
Succumbs to Injuries Received Several Days Ago.---An Old And Respected Resident.
---Mrs. Martha Washburn of Eckford township, passed away Sunday morning, death resulting from injuries which she received Monday, April 4th, when she sustained a fractured hip, the result of a fall. Due to her advance age, being 81 years old, she was unable to recover from the shock. The lady was born in New York state, coming to Michigan in 1865 soon after her marriage and settling on the farm property in Eckford township where she has resided continuously since. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Clare. The funeral will occur from the home at ten o'clock, standardtime, Wednesday. Rev. Simpson of Homer will officiate and interment will be given in the east Eckford cemetery.
---Deceased was the sister of Mrs. Cornelia Youngs of Albion, the only survivor of the Hamilton family which came to this county from New York state over half a century ago and have been numbered among the most eminently respeted[sic] people of Eckford township, where they resided so many years.
---A brother, Parker Page Hamilton died March 1, at Kalamazoo as the result of a broken hip, which caused the death of his sister. Two of Mrs. Washburn's other brothers, Lynus S., and Flaviel S. Hamilton died about fifteen years ago within a few hours of each other, the latter receiving injuries by being thrown from a load of chairs which he was drawing from Marshall for the former's funeral, the horses he was driving taking fright at a train of cars.

Mrs. Martha Washburn of Eckford township died Sunday morning as the result of injuries received on Monday, April 4th, when she fell and broke her hip. Mrs. Washburn was eight-one years of age and has lived in Eckford since 1865, coming there from New York state. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Clara Washburn. The funeral will occur tomorrow morning at 10:00 o'clock at her late residence. Rev. Mr. Simpson of Homer will officiate and interment will be at the East Eckford cemetery.
