LIZZIE DAUGHERTY
---Mrs. Lizzie Daugherty died suddenly Tuesday. Mrs. Daugherty was born July 1, 1861 near New Harmony, a daughter of Thomas M. and Sarah Sanford Easley. Shw was married to Joseph A. Daugherty March 2, 1879. Mr. Daughterty died March 13, 1928.
---There were five children, one daughter, Effie Blossom, dying in infancy. Those surviving are Fannie May at the home, James Smith Daugherty of La Plata, Alice M. Billings, who had been with her son Joe, at Barrington, Illinois for the past few months and Mike Daugherty of La Plata. There are four brothers, George B. Easley of Gibbs and Thomas I. Easley, R.E. Easley and Ed R. Easley, all of this community, one sister, Mrs. Effie Payne, Los Angeles, California. There are six grandchildren.
---When a girl, Mrs. Daugherty united with the Presbyterian Church at New Harmony, later placing her membership as a charter member of the Star Christian Church, northeast of La Plata. She recently affiliated with the Christian Church at La Plata.
---Funeral and burial services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, at the New Harmony church east of here, conducted by Rev. Spurling of Kirksville.
