ALICE M. CRAWFORD
---Mrs. Herman Crawford, fifty-five, died at the family home in La Plata Monday morning, March 5. She had been in failing health since the first of the year and suffered a heart attack about 8:00 that morning.
---Mrs. Crawford was the daughter of Joseph A. and Lizzie (Easley) Daugherty and was born September 16, 1889 six miles east of La Plata.
---She was married to Samuel Billings October, 1908. Three children were born to them, Mrs. Bessie Wares of Jacksonville, Missouri, Joseph Billings of Chicago Height, Illinois and Arley Billings of Columet City, Illinois. Her husband died in October, 1918.
---She married Herman Crawford October 21, 1936.
---She is survived by her husband, the three children, four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Smith and one brother, Mike S. Daugherty, both of La Plata; one step-daughter, Mrs. J. R. Baker of Ten Mile in Macon County; one step-granddaughter; three nieces, Mrs. Marie Elsea and Mrs. Helen Eitel, both of La Plata and Mrs. Ann Mortenson of Chicago.
---She was a member of the Christian Church and Eastern Star of Atlanta.
---Services were held Thursday at the Christian Church.

NOTE: Mrs. Crawford is buried in the La Plata cemetery by the side of her first husband, Samuel Billings.
