Joseph Shore by Auretta Shore Dropps:

Joseph Shore was born February 14, 1863, in Lucas County, Iowa. He farmed first in Ziebach County, South Dakota, before coming to Blunt about 1915. He was a widower. He bought a home and small acreage in the northwest part of Blunt.
He became a Watkins salesman, starting his route with a horse-drawn carriage. His first car was the Model T pictured here.
I remember him as a happy 'Grandpa' singing his church hymms with the 'do re mi fa so la ti do', always the scale first and then the words. He was a very generous Grandpa, always giving samples of his Watkins products and (there was always) fruit gum for the children of his customers.
My brothers Ray Shore and Jerry Shore, remember accompanying him on his Watkins route and often spending the night with the last farmer on his route.
He lived at Blunt until his death, July 20 1941, and is buried at Pender, Nebraska.
