Carl F. Frieders, 85, of Aurora passed away Thursday, March 20, 2003 at his home. He was born December 5, 1917 in Naperville, IL.
    Mr. Frieders was a life long member of St. Mary Church. He was united in marriage to Marcella (Kuhn) on August 12, 1944 at St. Michael Church in Wheaton. He was a life long member of The Farm Bureau. He lived his whole life dedicated to the stewardship of the land. He was a dedicated family man and farmer, embracing the changes in farming from horses to full modern technology. Together with his wife, they made their home for 52 years on the Southeast side of Aurora while raising their five children.
    He is survived by four sons and a daughter, Wayne (Leslie) Frieders of Sugar Grove, IL, Janet Ferguson of Naperville, IL, Melvin (Amory) Frieders of Aurora, John (Linda) Frieders of Sandwich, IL and Gary (Jodie) Frieders of Leland, IL; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sr. Mary Christina, R.S.M. and Ruth Schmidt both of Aurora; a brother, Roy (Elaine) Frieders of Warrenville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella in 1996; two sisters, Sr. Mary Christine and Louise Schmidt, and two sisters in childhood; his son-in-law, David Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Ellen Frieders; his infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Frieders; and two brothers-in-law, Ralph Schmidt and Joe Schmidt.
    Pallbearers will be Michael Ferguson, Patrick Ferguson, Kurt Frieders, Stephen Frieders, Bradley Frieders and Christopher Frieders. Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory, Tyler and Dustin Frieders.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 9:30 AM from The Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary to St. Mary Church at 10 AM with Fr. Charles Reichenbacher, O.S.B. officiating. Interment at Marywood Cemetery.
    Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2003 from 3 to 9 PM at The Daleiden Lake Steet Mortuary, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL, 60506. 630-898-8634.
