Ruth's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed hearing about their activities and accomplishments both great and small. We all loved her kindness, patience and gentle sense of humor.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Donna) Schmidt of Aurora, IL, Karen Carew of North Aurora, IL, Dennis (Lyda) Schmidt of Montgomery, IL, Carleen (Lee) Schwendner of St. Charles, IL, Edward (Donna) Schmidt of Elgin, IL, and Jane (John) Cebulski of Aurora, IL; her grandchildren, Jessica Schmidt, Kevin and Brian Carew, Lynn (Matt) Fichtel, Kristin and Kelli Schmidt, Eric and Emily Schwendner, Allison and Melanie Schmidt and Jared, Jenna, Jonas and Justin Cebulski; her great grandchildren, Alexis and Andrew Fichtel; sisters-in-law, Elaine Frieders, Cecilia Schwickert and Leone Schmidt and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Schmidt; her parents, John and Anna M. (Schuster) Frieders; her sisters, Sr. Christina Frieders, R.S.M., Sr. Christine Frieders, R.S.M., Louise (Joseph) Schmidt and Leona and Grace Frieders; her brothers, Carl (Marcella) Frieders and Roy Frieders; her brothers-in-law, Albert Schmidt and Nickolaus Schwickert and her son-in-law, Paul Carew.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 12:30 pm from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1:00 pm. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12 2007 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 3:00 pm.
