RAYMOND M. PARKIN

Funeral services for Raymond M. Parkin were conducted Good Friday, March 29, at the LDS Church on Edgar Street. Bishop Blaine Graham conducted the services. Interment was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Parkin, 90, of 807 Wyoming St., Rock Springs, died at 5:03 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 1991 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where he had been a patient since March 16.

A resident of Rock Springs since 1938, Parkin had been in ill health the past three months.

He was born in South Bountiful, Utah on Nov. 28, 1900, the son of the late George and Jessie Mann Parkin. He attended schools in South Bountiful and was a graduate of high school there. He married the former Alma C. Nelson in Cody Nov. 14, 1930 and she preceded him in death May 3, 1987.

He served on a mission from January 1920 to August 1922 in several northeastern states. Parkin was a retired telephone company foreman having worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company from 1928 to 1965.

He was a member of the LDS Church and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include one daughter, Maxine Taucher of Rock Springs; three brothers, Charles Parkin of Bountiful, Utah, Wallace Parkin of Spring City, Utah and Griffin Parkin of Buffalo; four sisters, Lavinia Lombard of Sacramento, Calif., Blanche Ashton of Elgin, Oregon, Jessie Boulton of Woodscross, Utah and Eliza Dickson of Green River; four grandchildren, Mrs. Jack (Michaela) Kaumo of Rock Springs, Mrs. Carl (Pam) Anderson of Rock Springs, Paul Taucher and wife Susan of Laramie and Nelson Taucher of Rock Springs; six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Parkin was preceded in death by two brothers, Kimball Mann Parkin and George Harold Parkin.
