All readable stones set before May 2011 in the Rock Springs Cemetery have been uploaded. Many burials do not have markers at all. Many stones are unreadable.
Memorials noted "obit not found on film", this means that *I* didn't find it either in the weekly summary of deaths, or in some years, while doing a page by page of the newspaper. I may have missed it. Children often did not get obits published. If you run across one, email me and I'll give it another try. It helps enormously to have the actual death date. Some early death certs are indexed at http://wyoarchives.state.wy.us/index.php/find-it-in-the-archives/death-certificate-database . This index is not complete. If you believe the death occurred in Wyoming prior to 50 years ago, contact Wyoming Archives at http://wyoarchives.state.wy.us/index.php/ask-archivist for a scan. These are 25 cents per scan, however they don't request payment until you hit $1.
I have no kin in the Rock Springs cemetery. If one of my listings is kin to you, feel free to request a transfer. It is my goal to transfer every memorial to kin before I end up in the cemetery :-) If you find errors or have additional information, please send it along through the Edit tab at the top right of the memorial page.
The city of Rock Springs has a listing available at:
The city listing is neither accurate nor complete, I've photographed hundreds of stones that are not in the listing. Dates in the city listing are usually *burial* dates, not death dates. There are a couple of hundred burials in the cemetery that the cemetery staff are unaware of.
