ARMAND KELLOGG

Armand Kellogg, 87, died Aug. 29 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River following a brief illness.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1914, in Rock Springs, the son of the late Samuel Edward and Hattie Maude O' Donnell Kellogg.

He attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School with the class of 1931. He also attended Notre Dame and graduated from there with a bachelor's degree in architecture.

He married Mabel Pilger in Rock Springs in 1938 and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2001.

He and his brother owned and operated Kellogg and Kellogg Architects for 46 years. He was the architect for numerous buildings, homes, and churches throughout Southwestern Wyoming, including the original Western Wyoming College, University of Wyoming Commerce and Industry Building in Cheyenne and the Governor's Mansion in Cheyenne.

He was also instrumental in engineering the "Spruce Goose". He also created "B" Posters at Universal Studios.

His interests included golf, painting with watercolors and piano.

Survivors include three sons Garry Kellogg and wife Jean Kolman of Carson City, Nev. and their children Glenn Kellogg and wife Ethel of Spokane, Wash., Jim Kellogg and wife Lynne of Spokane, Wash., John Kellogg of Spokane, Patrick Kellogg of Los Angeles; son Bill Kellogg and wife Sandy of Richland, Wash and their son Eron Kellogg of Richland, Wash.; son Phillip Kellogg and wife Jeanne of Rock Springs and their children Greg Kellogg and wife Maria Shaffer of Casper, Jenny Kellogg of Glendale, Colo, Julie Kellogg of Fort Collins and Chris Kellogg of Rock Springs; two daughters Laurie Carlson of Fort Collins, Colo., Carol Boos and husband Brad and their children Alex and Keith Boos all of Englewood, Colo; one brother Fred Kellogg and wife Dorothy of Cheyenne; and five great grandchildren Beau, Mark, Katelyn, Kasey and Madisen all of Spokane, Wash.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dorwin and one son-in-law, Tom Carlson.

Following cremation at the Vase White Mountain Crematory, a memorial services will be conducted at 1p.m. Sept. 7 at the Vase Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel one hour prior to services.
