Steve resided in Gaylord, Minnesota for many years. His joy of the outdoors led him to Blackduck, Minnesota, for a short time before returning back to his hometown. Upon completion of his military service he began his career as a flight instructor. His ambition to be home led him into farming, and raising poultry. He later found successes and freedom in his entrepreneurial endeavors. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. Steve was also a member of the American Legions in Gaylord, Blackduck and Hutchinson, Minnesota. Steve took pride in his family farm, and watching his children's sporting events. He liked socializing with his family and was always looking for a good laugh. Steve also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time in Northern Minnesota. His children blessed him with 25 beautiful and healthy grandchildren.
Steve passed away very unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Sanford Health Center in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 66 years. He will be dearly missed.
Steve is survived by his: Children, Lynelle (Kranz) Giammanco and her husband, Ciro of Hillsboro, NJ, Aaron Kranz and his wife, Bobbi of Paynesville, MN, Wade Kranz and his wife, Amy of Shakopee, MN, Victor Kranz and his wife, Carrie of Star, ID, Andrew Kranz and his wife, Lisa of Monument, CO, Sarah (Kranz) Bune and her husband, Beau of Roberts, WI; 25 Grandchildren; Former Spouse of 27 years, Michele Kranz of Hudson, WI; Siblings, Lorraine Freyholtz and her husband, Larris of Blackduck, MN, Arlene Jacobson and her husband, Gene of Lakeville, MN, Roger Kranz and his wife, Connie of Gaylord, MN, Byron Kranz and his wife, Sharen of Gaylord, MN, Virginia Briard and her husband, Robert of Frazee, MN, Hans Kranz and his wife, Shirley of Gaylord, MN, Luther Kranz and his wife, Laura of Henderson, MN, Cheyenne Bernstein and her husband, Jerry of Arlington, MN; Sister-In-Law, Darlene Kranz of Gaylord, MN; Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his Parents, Emily and Roland Kranz; and Brother, Ernest Kranz.
