A. H. Slim" Chandler, 73, died Tuesday night at Hillcrest General Hospital in Silver City. He had been. a resident of Central for 40 years, and retired as -an employee of the Chino Mines Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation in 1962. Survivors include Mr. Chandler's widow, Mrs. Mary Chandler of Central; two sons, R. L. Chandler of Central and Sanford Chandler of Carlsbad; a daughter, Mrs. Jewell M. Burk of Silver City; six grandchildren; a brother Jim Chandler of Terrebonne, Ore. and five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lockney of Silver City, Mrs. Ada Lee of Gila, Mrs. Viola Dillard of Turner, Ore., Mrs. Anna Bell Fortenberry of Redrock and Mrs. Florence McBride of Ft. Bayard. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in the Capel of the Curtis Mortuary. with the Rev. Don Brent of the First Baptist Church of Silver City officiating. Internment was in ,Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dudley Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Walter Gomez, Bob Willard, Odell Hatler and Jerry McBride.
