Frank R. Relyea, 82 years-year-old retired farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack today at 9 AM at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Madge) Love, route 5, Defiance Township, where he had made his home for the last six years. The body is at the Mansfield funeral home where Rev. W. E. Hayden, First Baptist Church minister, will officiate at services Wednesday at 2:30 PM. Burial will be in the Brunersburg Cemetery. Mr. Relyea, a son of William and Sofia Relyea, was born in Defiance County on May 9, 1867 and spent much of his life in this area. He had been unable to work for the last 14 years. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Love, Mrs. Ed (Mable) Pyle, Melbourne, West Virginia and Mrs. Bert (Nevah) Conkright and Mrs. Carl (May) Osborne, both of Defiance; a son, Wallace Relyea, route 5; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. -Defiance Crescent News, January 16, 1950.
