The will of Mrs. Victoria Murdock divides her estate, valued at $250,000, equally among her three children, Victor, Marcellus, and Mrs. Pearl Eaton. The Wichita Eagle printing
business is to be continued by the trustees and is not to be sold for 25 years unless it ceases to be profitable. The home property has 300-foot frontage on St. Francis and 150 feet on Murdock. Wichita Beacon, January 11, 1915, page 3.

"Eaglehurst," the old home of Colonel Murdock at the corner of Murdock and St. Francis, is to be rented. It is a part of the estate of the late Victoria Murdock and has been unoccupied since she died nearly a year and a half ago. It was thought her daughter, Mrs. Paul Eaton, would occupy it, but instead, she has built a handsome house of her own in College Hill. Wichita Beacon, May 6, 1916, page 6.

Article by Marie McDonald reporting on a tour through the old Murdock house. Additions to the original house probably made along with repairs after a fire in the 1880s. Only four of the Murdocks' eight children lived to adulthood: Kate (Mrs. Bion Hull) who died in 1893; Pearl Jane (Mrs. Paul Eaton) who died in 1945; Victor, who died in 1946; and Marcellus, who died in 1970. Wichita Eagle, September 13, 1974, page 15A.
