Opal Ratcliff Stegman, age 95, of Pine Bluff, Benton and recently residing in Baton Rouge, LA died Tuesday, Aug 9, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born August 11, 1915 in Willow, AR to the late Ella Brumley Ratcliff and Frank A. Ratcliff. She was reared and educated at Dellar, AR. She had been employed as a dietician at Jefferson Hospital in Pine Bluff.
She was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stegman whom she married in Sheridan AR; three brothers Lavern, Conway and Wallace Ratcliff and two sisters, Berta Fikes and Frankie Payne.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Merchant of Baton Rouge, LA and Cornelia Mendenhall of Benton, AR; one sister, Melba Thompson of Fort Walton Beach, FL; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 12 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
