Sabra was the daughter of Martin H. and Mary Eva Dyehouse Harp. She married Melvin, son of John and Cynthia Osborne Shearer, on May 4, 1911 in Danville. The couple were the parents of Effie, Edith, Anna, Louella, Dora, Catherine, Melvin, Carl, Harvey, Glenmore and Floyd Shearer.
