El Dorado, Kan. —


Elizabeth Marie Perks, 88 of El Dorado, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Lakepoint Nursing Center in El Dorado.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at First Christian Church, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 6 to 7:30 at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the funeral services in Arlington (Kansas Cemetery) at 2:30 p.m.

She was born on June 8, 1923 in Arlington, the daughter of Fay Hopping and Marie Koestel Guyer. She graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended one year of college. Elizabeth was a homemaker and on May 22, 1946, was united in marriage to Wendell Perks in Hutchinson. She was a member of EHU; WMB Senior; CWF; the First Christian Church and Circles of the Church; enjoyed sewing, handiwork; doing crossword puzzles playing any game with people and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who survive include her husband Wendell, Augusta; children and their spouses, Jean and Bob Myer, El Dorado, Wendell Perk Jr. and Linda Blossom, Takoma Park, Mo., Joann and Jim Hays, Pratt, and Phyllis and Dennis Stackley, Parker, Colo.; 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Eric, Janett Myer; Jeremy Perks; Jennifer Dembowski; Jamie Hays-Szelc; Jackie Hays; Jeda Hays; Charity Anderson; Aaron Stackley, Michael Stackley, Sarah Stackley; seven great-grandchildren; five nieces; sister-in-law Wilma Perks-Welch, Hutchinson; and brother-in-law Jerry Perks, Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lester Guyer and sister Kathleen White.

Memorials in her memory for First Christian Church may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado which is handling the arrangements. Condolences to the family can be sent to www.carlsoncolonial.com.
