Alice Shearon Kigar, 95, died Sunday September 4, 2011 at St Ann's Home. Alice was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Bernard and Katherine Brown Shearon in 1916. In 1942 Alice and her family traveled to Fort Lewis Washington where she wed Lieutenant Robert C. Kigar , US Army, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her son Robin, brothers Bernard and Robert Shearon. Alice devoted her life to her family. She was a graduate of Northwestern University where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a member of the E Jane Hamilton Society and a charter member of the Fort Wayne Junior League.
Surviving are her daughters, Sherry (Phil) Knapke, Mary Beth (Dick) Weiss, sons, Dan (Emma) Kigar, and Chip (Pam Fesler) Kigar. She adored her grandchildren; Kirsten (John) Kaltenmark, Norbert (Molly) Knapke, Maggie Knapke, Andy Weiss, Eric (Kristin) Weiss, Kate Weiss, and Sam Kigar and 9 great grandchildren.
The Family wishes to thank the staff at St Ann's for their warm and heartfelt care. Mass of Christian burial is at 10:30 a.m. September 9, 2011 at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with calling 1 hour prior. Officiating is Father Andrew Budzinski. Calling at D.O. McComb Funeral Home, Pine Valley, 1320 East Dupont Road, Thursday September 8th 6:00-9:00 pm. Vigil at 8:00. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials maybe made to Turnstone or Matthew 25.
