ROBERT SHERMAN WELLS
1918 -1978
Robert Sherman Wells, age 59, of Mayville, died suddenly Monday, May 15, at Lapeer County General Hospital.
Robert Wells was born November 12, 1918 in Indianfields Twp., the son of Joseph H. and Lilly (Byington) Wells. He married Veronica May Lyman in Lake Orion on Nov. 23, 1939 and has always lived in this area. Mr. Wells was head custodian at the Mayville High School for 18 years and also at the Caro Regional Center. He was a former member of the Village Council, an inactive member of the Mayville Fire Department and a member of the Retired State Employees Association.
He leaves his wife; two daughters; a son; 7 grandchildren and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Blackmore and Tubbs Funeral Chapel. Rev. Donald Lichtenfelt of Disco United Methodist Church of Utica will officiate and burial will be at Dawn Memorial Estates Cemetery, Lapeer.
