NEWTON — Judith Pippitt, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (Sept. 3, 2011) at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1941, in Dodge City to Kenneth and Dorothy (Gaul) Byers. She married Larry Pippitt on June 7, 1964, in Dodge City, and he survives of the home.
Judy was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Newton and was a homemaker. She also was a former Avon representative. Judy was a longtime active member and officer of TOPS. She enjoyed playing the organ, traveling and spending time with her loving family and friends. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Larry of the home; son, Stacy Pippitt of Burden; four grandchildren, Cody, Shay, Allie and Jace Pippitt; and three nephews, Tim, Todd and Ted Bahensky and families.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. The Rev. Aaron Filipek will preside. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran or KSU Center for Basic Cancer Research, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
