Wedding: Lorena Jaschob to Calvin W. Arpke

Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock in the home of Pastor Wm. Rech, the marriage of Mr. Calvin W. Arpke from Franklin and Miss Lorena Jaschob, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Herman Jaschob from the Town of Rhine, near Milhome, took place. Attendants were Lester Pasch and Anita Jaschob. The wedding was celebrated at the home of the bride’s parents. The newlyweds will make their home on a farm in the Town of Herman.

Mrs. Lorena Arpke, 81, formerly of Howards Grove and a resident of Morningside Nursing Home, Sheboygan, died August 26. Funeral services were held at Immanuel United church of Christ, the Rev. William Bender, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The former Lorena Jaschob, she was born in Kiel on June 26, 1894 a daughter of Herman and Mary Pasch Jaschob. The family later moved to the Town of Rhine, near Millhome where she attended district school. Sept 2, 1918 she was married to Calvin W. Arpke in the town of Rhine. After marriage, the couple resided in Franklin, where Mr. Arpke operated a feed mill and later a farm. After the death of her husband, February 11, 1960, Mrs. Arpke moved to Howards Grove. She had resided at the nursing home the past two and one-half years. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Wickesberg of Route 1, Elkhart lake, Mrs. Willard Clevers and Mrs. Edwin Dora, both of Howards Grove; three sons, Wesley of Sheboygan, Jerome of Kohler and Richard of rural Sheboygan Falls; 20 grandchildren, three step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and a brother, Alvin Jaschob of Sheboygan.
