Hazel B. Pahl, 98, of the Cornell and Holcombe area, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the Cornell Area Care Center in Cornell.
Hazel was born on April 3, 1913, to Morris and Serena (Helland) Cooper in White Bear Lake, Minn., and was raised in the Cornell area.
Hazel married Walter Pahl on May 27, 1928, in Cornell. Following marriage, she raised 11 children. Hazel was employed at the Rusk County Nursing Home in Ladysmith for 10 years. She retired and spent her time taking care of her husband while he was sick.
She enjoyed crocheting, watching wrestling and spending time with her children.
Hazel is survived by her children-Geraldine (Don) White, Dorothy (Richard) Varsho, Mavis (Ted Sr.) Bach, Ruth Ann (Virgil) Breezee and Roger (Janet) Pahl; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter; her daughters Erma (Victor) Jackson, Irene (Brink) Odgen, Lois (Charles) Warner and Paulette (Roy) Crosby; her sons Milton Pahl and Walter Pahl, Jr.; and her brother Merle Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell with Rev. Diane House officiating. Interment will be in the Cornell Cemetery in the Town of Cleveland.
Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, and also one hour before services Saturday morning at the funeral home.
