He moved to Menomonie, WI with his parents, living there for several years.
On May 26, 1928 he was united in marriage to Hazel B. Cooper in Chippewa Falls, WI., they were the parents of 12 children.
Walter was employed at the St. Regis Paper Mill in Cornell for 41 years and retired in 1966.
Walter was survived by his wife, 8 daughters, 3 sons, 47 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents and 9 siblings.
