Oscar Lutze, 73, who formerly operated a cheese storing, packing and shipping firm at Cleveland, died Sunday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lutze, taken ill only a few days ago, had been hospitalized since Thursday. He had been enjoying good health previously, having enjoyed his Golden Wedding Anniversary with Mrs. Lutze only four weeks ago.

A son of the late Edward and Margaret Reinemann Lutze, he was born in the town of Centerville (Manitowoc County), April 17, 1886. As a young man, he learned the cheese making trade at the former Sixel factory in Spring Valley, and in February, 1909, purchased a factory in Marathon County. He made cheese there for 10 years, returning to Cleveland in 1919 where he and his brother, Edward, went into business as the Lutze Cheese Storage Co. He retired from that business in 1950, after which he was employed by the Rueben Stoltenberg and Son Co. In Cleveland until four years ago.

His marriage to Mary Bohne of the Town of Meeme took place Oct. 24, 1909. Mr. Lutze was a member of Ss. John and Peter Lutheran Church, serving the congregation as an elder for many years. He also was a past president of the Cleveland Fire Dept.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Warren Beuchel, R 1, Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Nyles and Mary Ann Beuchel; a brother John, Cleveland, and two sisters, Mrs. John Lorfeld, Cleveland, and Mrs. David Lorfeld, Spring Valley. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ss. John and Peter Church with the Rev. S.G. Kugler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Saxon Cemetery, Centerville. Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Home in Cleveland from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and after that hour at the church. The family announce stat a memorial fund is being established on behalf of Ss.John and Peter Church.
