Lillie Alice Dale, 95, formerly of Lewis County, Mo., died Sunday, april 13, 2003, in North Adams Home, Mendon, Ill. Born March 4, 1908, at Nelsonville, Mo., a daughter of William Thomas and Lottie Ellen Simimon Hardy. She married James Darrell Dale, April 4, 1927. He preceded her in death, June 12, 1967. Mrs. Dale worked at Brown's Drug Store, in Quincy, as a cook. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: one son, Donald Dale, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Jane Slater, Quincy, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Maxine Pettjohn; three sisters, Margaret Marksbury, Celestia Schmidt, and Lillian Anderson; and two brothers, Ercie and Cecil Hardy. Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 15, at Concord Cemetery, near Bethel, Mo., with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Ball-Davis Funeral Home, Ewing.
