Charles R. "Chuck" Kemp Jr., 61, of 7308 W. Division Line Road, died unexpectedly at 12:55 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at St. Elizabeth East hospital in Lafayette.
He was born June 3, 1950 in Lafayette to the late Charles Sr. and Nina Metzger Kemp. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
He married Judy A. Gingrich in Monticello on April 30, 1978 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Shirley Reed (companion: Chris Smith) of Fort Wayne and Jenny Pearson (husband: Steve) of Camden; two sons, Tony Kemp (wife: Beverly) of Francesville and Terry Kemp (wife: Melissa German) of Lafayette and 9 grandchildren.
He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received the Purple Heart.
