Dudley Richard, known as Dick, was the 7th of John Thomas & Anna (McAdams) Hawkins.

Dudley, age 18, was living in Provence, Carter Co, OK on Sept. 12, 1918, when he registered for the WWI draft. He lived with his mother, Annie Hawkins, while farming. Dudley was described as being tall and slender with blue eyes & dark colored hair. He signed his name, Dud Richard Hawkins.

In 1920 Dudley was 20 years old when he married Ima Glee Rogers, age 18. Ima, who taught school in Wilson, Carter Co, OK, was the daughter of William R. & Louisa Alvada (Calley) Rogers. Her mother, a widow, was the postmaster at Wilson. Her father had died on Oct. 14, 1906.

On April 11, 1930
Dudley R. & Ima G. Hawkins, ages 30 & 28, were renting a home in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK on 7th Ave. Northeast. Dudley was working in a refinery. Their son, Jerald, was 6 years & 11 months; Ima's nephew, William G. Rogers, age 3 years & 4 months, lived with them.

Two boarders, George W. Davis & his wife, Mamie, ages 33 & 23, lived with them. George, like Dudley, was working in a refinery.

On April 6/8, 1940
Richard & Glee Hawkins, ages 40 & 38, lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co, OK on 527c Choctaw St. Richard, a baker, owned his business. Glee was a clerk in their shop. They had moved from Ardmore, Carter Co, OK where they had lived in 1935. Their son, Gerald, was 16. Glee's 13 year old brother, W.G. Rogers, lived with them.

Dudley died on Feb. 21, 1959.

Ima's mother was in Oklahoma City when she died. Her obituary was published in the Daily Ardmoreite on May 20, 1962:
"Mrs. Alvada Rogers
Services are to be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bettes Chapel for Mrs. Alvada Rogers, a long time resident of Provence, who died Friday in Oklahoma city. Burial will be at Provence.

Mrs. Rogers, a native Texan, was born April 18, 1874, and had lived at Provence 60 years. She served as postmistress there 25 years, and was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving are one daughter, D.R. Hawkins, Oklahoma City; three sons, Glen, also of Oklahoma City; Faye, O'Hare, and Guy, Homubbie. Also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Rev. C.C. Abdatt, Oklahoma City, is to officiate."


Ima died on Jan. 17, 1991.
