James S. Veltkamp, 91, of Churchill went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 5, 2010. He was born on January 21, 1919 to Stephen and Anna Veltkamp, the 4th of 9 children. Jim was 16 when his father died leaving his mother to raise the family with the help of the older children. He was married to Aileen Vander Molen on August 10, 1943. They were blessed with 5 children. He attended Dillon Teachers College, spent time in the Navy and then taught at various schools in the Manhattan area, where he lived his entire life. He and his brothers leased some ground in the Three Forks area, it was the start of his farming career, which he loved, for the rest of his life. He served different times on the Christian school board, the church council, and many different farm related organizations giving back to the community he loved. He was a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church where he enjoyed welcoming worshipers, especially the visitors.
