In 1930 Henry (8 y ) lived with his parents Steve (40) and Anna Veltkamp (36) and his siblings Teressa (16), Christine (14), Henrietta (12), James (10), Thomas (6) and Herold (4) at the Dutch settlement Holland, Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana.

His father Stephen Veltkamp died in February 1936 at the age of 46 years, leaving a wife and seven children. Henry was then 14 years aged.

In 1940 farm laborer Henry (19 y) resided with his mother Anna M Veltkamp and his siblings James (21, farm laborer too), Thomas (16), Harold G (14), Margretha A (5), and Stephana J (3) at an own home, worth $1000, at Holland, Gallatin, Montana. In 1935 they lived in the same house.

Henry served during WW II as second lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps.

Henry S. Veltkamp married to the three years younger Marjorie D. Bryant at Cape Girardeau in southeast Missouri. They have Sharon Ann (1944), Stephen Dallas (1949) and Donna K. Veltkamp (1959) as children.

Henry died in October 1997 at La Porta in the southeastern part of Texas at the age of 76 years. His wife Marjorie died a few months later at the same place, aged 73 years.
