Bill G. Calton, 84, of Grovespring, died Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2011, in St, John's Hospital, Lebanon.

He was born, May 9, 1927, near Morgan, to Floyd C. and Nora McMillen Calton.

On Sept. 27, 1968, he was married to Rowena Linnell Tennison.

After serving in the U.S. Army as part of the military police during World War II, he returned to Laclede County, where he worked as a contractor for several years, then he was employed by H.D. Lee for a number of years.

Bill followed the Primitive Baptist faith and was ready to meet his maker.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willa Belle Rosa Dickson; his parents; two brothers, Clodus and Jim Calton; and a sister, Freida Green.

He is survived by his wife, Rowena, of the home; six daughters, Diana Conn and her husband, Kenny, of LaPorte, Ind., Patty Pendergrass and her husband, Ralph, Marilyn Pendergrass and her husband, Jeff, Janie Waterman and her husband, Dan D., Jeanie Steiro and her husband, Mike, and Julie Miller and her husband, Jonathan, all of Lebanon; five sons, Bruce Calton and his wife, Jennifer, John Calton and his wife, Tonia, all of Grovespring, Rick Calton and his wife, Cheryl, of Lebanon, Terry Calton and his wife, Marcia, and Floyd Calton and his wife, Karyn, all of Conway; 32 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Calton of Conway, and Gary Calton and his wife, Joetta, of Phillipsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Bill G. Calton will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, with Brother Donald Barnett and Brother Don Wood officiating.

Burial will be in the Veteran's Park in Mount Rose Memorial Park with military rites by V.F.W. Post #4107 under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday in the funeral home.

A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
