She was born December 30, 1950, in La Porte, to Bill and Willobell (Dixon) Calton.
Diana was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte and was an assistant at the La Porte County Home for many years. She enjoyed walking, sewing, shopping, puzzles, scrapbooking, and attending to her roses in her garden. She was a wonderful cook who loved spending time with her family, especially loving her grandchildren. Diana had a special love for her two cats, Jinks and Chloe.
On April 22, 1989, in Lebanon, Missouri, she married Kenneth Conn, who survives.
Also surviving are her children, Jeff (Kristin) Sacks of La Porte, Tina (Frank) Benavidez of Mississippi and Michael (Connie) Sacks of La Porte; her mother, Rowena Calton, of Missouri; five brothers, Bruce, Rick, Terry, Floyd, and Little John Calton, all of Missouri; five sisters, Patty and Marilyn Pendergrass, Jeanie Steiro, Janie Waterman, and Julie Miller, all of Missouri; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one granddaughter, Maranda Garay; and one great-grandson, Gavin Aiden Sacks.
A funeral celebrating her life will be at 6 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, 219-362-3100, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation and viewing will be from 3 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
