As William Sahrle, who lives on the outskirts of Dansville was driving home about 10 o'clock on Saturday night, he discovered the body of a man and an over turned buggy in the road about five rods from his house. Mr. Sahrle got a lantern and together with his father examined the body, which was found to be lifeless. Corner F. M. Perine of Dansville was notified. Investigation proved the deceased to be Jared Knowles, a farmer, aged about 60 years, residing in Springwater, that he left Dansville for home in an intoxicated state, about 8 o'clock the same evening, driving a spirited horse. Tracks showed that the buggy had been overturned on an embankment in the road, evidently throwing the occupant out in such a manner as to brake his neck. His head was also badly bruised. The horse ran on, leaving parts of the harness along the road. Knowles leaves a wife and several children.
