FAMILY STORY: Sarah & William were married during the Civil War (29 Jul 1864). Her father Charles did not approve. During the discussion he shot one of the soldiers. They left and said they would return and hang Charles from the highest tree. She left and went to live at a neighbors.

At the time of her marriage she was 14 years, 3 months and 23 days old, perhaps that's why her father objected.

The Ministers Return staes that her father had given written permission, he was not in attendance.

Sally and William had 11 children
